My name is Dave Palmer.
I was asked to give a little detail of my background as I am a new comer.
I am 64 years old and retired. I live in Melbourne Florida, about 20 miles south of Cape Canaveral, Great for the shuttle launchs. I am a "displaced " Englishman, having been here for some 28 years I almost feel American,
I have been invoved with Flight Sim. for some 2 /3 years. I guess I have aquired some 600 or so hours with a variety of VA's but always keep coming back to Bush Flying.
About 6 months ago I "found" The "trio" GlacierBay/Misty Fiords/ Tongass. Since then I have been flying the area alot.
I have FSX but my system limits the performance so I use FS 9. The above scenery makes it perfect. I fly with all the settings wide open and syill keep 25 fps or better even in the dense areas.
I really look forward to getting involved with people who have a similar outlook.
and putting some flying hours in the most beautiful scenery in the Flight Sim. world.

Dave.

Grettings Dave. Welcome to Misty Air. :)

I used to live a touch south of you when I was in FL. Lived in Stuart for a while and then roomed with a guy in Vero for a few months. We both worked in Ft. Pierce at the time. Nice area, but I know I'm better off where I belong. =) Anyway, pleasure to meetcha. Welcome aboard, as it were.

Hi Dave and welcome to the "club".

Geriatric Air sounds good as I am 65 in May. Can't wait for me pension.
Have been retired for 5 years now and loved every minute of it, best job I ever had.

More important than age is the QUALITY of our members, everyone is mucking in to make Misty Air a truly great online flying success.

Welcome

Richard.

Thank you all for the very warm welcome. I am sure that I will be taking you up on the offers of help. I regret that I don't have any speacilized experience to offer in return, but I have beeen known to do some navigation and /or flight planning if I can help there.
In reading the comments in the forum I did note the feelings for VATSIM. I have been a member since I started with Flight Sim. but I have not flown with them because the formality. For those that want to try online in a low key, friendly enviroment I can reccomend Realworld ATC. Like Misty Air rhey are small and family orientated, without loosing the serious aspects of ATC.
Today I am going to see if I can get a charter and fly it/report it, if I can get around in the web site.
Thanks again guys

Dave
