In an effort to give flights a 'purpose', and hopefully to make them more interesting, we intend to include more mission flights amongst the charters and other flights.
For those who aren't familiar with these flights, the following is a quick guide to their installation and use in FSX.
To install,
1. go to your FSX/Missions folder and create a sub folder called "Misty Air Charters".
2. Unzip the mission file zip into the ne Misty air Charter folder which you created at 1 above
3. Boot FSX and look under missions. You should now see the flight listed
The Misty Air Charters folder which you created at 1 above, can now be used to store any Misty Air Charters mission flights in the future.
By default, downloaded mission files use the same aircraft the author used while compiling them. However, you can change aircraft (and weather) in a mission as long as you have the "Enable Changes to Missions" box checked on the Mission selection screen of FSX
There is a part of the mission script that will 'attach' the cargo to your aircraft, you will know when this happens as a box with the amount of cargo on your aircraft appears in the top right of the screen. You HAVE to change your aircraft BEFORE that attachment. Changing the aircraft AFTER that box appears and you won't have the cargo attached.
Don't forget to check that you have a button set to "Release Droppable Objects"
By default, In Acceleration, the default button for this is CTRL+ D, although we're not sure what it is in other versions of FSX.
However, a button of your own choice can be set in the options dropdown
CTRL + D is the default "Drop Cargo button" in Acceleration, not sure if it's assigned in vanilla FSX.
If you have any queries, or suggestions for mission flights, please post them in the Charter Q & A forum
