Captains,
First the good news. The server move has been completed. We're now up and running on our new server. Hopefully the problems of the past week will be a thing of the past, or something to that effect.
Which brings me to the bad news... The reason we bumped up the server relocation was our previous host corrupted the main forum database. While we do have backups, the most recent backup was from March 1st. This, of course, means some posts may have been lost and pireps submitted through APU (xacars runs on a separate database and was unaffected). I apologize for this, but it was sadly out of my hands. Guys (and gals on the offchance), I will be moving the website this coming weekend following the conclusion of the Iditarod event. I have purchased what is called a VPS (Virtual Private Server) that I now host a couple sites on, one of which will be Misty Air. The VPS gives me full control over various back-end settings that we are unable to change in an ordinary shared hosting environment.
The website address will remain mistyair.net. Pete is still in control, in fact nothing will change in that regard. We're simply moving the back-end that renders the website to you. For you, nothing should change.

I very pleased to announce that MarkB has accepted an invitation to rejoin the management team, and that his membership title has been raised to that of Senior Charter Pilot, with the associated Moderator status.
While for the time being, I will retain the role of Operations admin, Mark and I will in fact share the task of looking after the smooth running of the operations department of Misty Air.
